The recycling program promised to reduce the amount of garbage going into the land field. Everything seemed perfect. The birds would devour much of the waste, reducing the over all amount of garbage in the land field. But, as Jay Bard explained, one important detail was over looked. Bard, land field foreman and affectionately known as the Bird man of Alkatrash, explained that indeed less garbage enters the land field now, but it's pretty much replaced with bird shit. " You Know, the ratio between what a bird eats and the amount it Poops is pretty much 1 to 1" said Bard.
