Protester Aims to Stop Road Work
LAKELAND,
FLORIDA - Frustrated with sleepless
nights under the overpass, Willie Werks (known as J.J. to his friends) had
these remarks about why he is protesting to END ROAD WORK.
“I can't sleep at night and the construction keeps me from getting up for
the early morning rush hour begging session. I use to make up to $20
before 8:00 now I'm so tired I can't even put on my Homeless make up. Last
week I couldn't even find my sign that I’ve hid in the bushes for years.
Some asshole said "no wonder you don't have any money... you should work
for Cash not Food!” I prefer to work for food as I don’t know the true
value of money. All my friends are complaining also, if they continue this
road work the people won't have to stop here anymore and even if they can
read the sign at 55mph it's hard as hell to catch the change. Another
downside is that I won't be able to walk to the pub if this highway is
completed, and I don't want to spend money on a cab, you know with tips
and all it can get into my disposable income. If this keeps up I’ll be
forced to make a deposit at the sperm bank for jelly filled donuts.”
JJ may be the first person to bring this protest to the front.
But, Unknown to JJ, A passive protest to end road work has been going on
for years. Not wanting to bring the protest to the front, they have
placed their signs at the end of road construction for years.
